..and the most sincere employee award goes to !

theres a tiny woven cane basket in my cubicle. flowers and leaves are fixed up on a thermocol base in it.it looks like a miniature bush or aesthetically inclined people would call it a bouquet perhaps..now there are some people in office who clean everyone’s workspaces, keyboards chairs etc etc everyday (thanks to them, it was always a better place)the other day when i came to my colourful cubicle, it was spick n span as usual…..and….. someone had picked out everything from that tiny basketcleaned the base, cleaned the whole thing… and placed the empty basket next to the keyboard and all the flowers , leaves neatly placed in a row one by one next to the basket!!!!that definitely makes calls for an award!!

bollywood : om shanti om

if you are the one who can appreciate creativity, like to see movies full of colourful themes and lighthearted drama, then you shall definitely like this one…

the 70s style and stories and theme was brought out in a different way…

the movie was essentially a sharrukh khan movie, and inspite of all th things said about his over acting, and stereotypical ways etc etc… he is just too versatile… there is something in him that keeps him ruling the blockbuster always!

newcomer deepika is refreshingly confident , acts well… dances well.. she is sure gona go a long way…

introducing all the cast and crew on red carpet can only be  farah khan idea… don’t miss this in a hurry to leave theatres in the end…

rating : lighthearted, refreshing entertainment…

theres li’ll flickr of hope before i can say yahoo! gotcha..

one day when everyone logged into photos.yaho.com, there was a message.. yahoo asked them to move everything to flickr for good… people were sad but you have to change with life… old friends become old and you make new friends..

so everyone clcked that god damn link and snap!! … accounts and with them uploaded photographs and with them all the precious memories of each one’s past and present were transferred to flickr!!

whenever i have logged into flickr after that, i’m afraid i have to say this but its such a… such a .. such a disorganized website of the first order… that they make you register new afresh and not matter how much ever you try, atleast i tried, i couldn’t see my old snaps…

now you know how much of patience and time and selectivity process goes into uploading photos on a link and distributing it to people you want to know…  you cannot do everything again and again! you cant even think bout it…also you might not have all the backup of precious memories with you everytime…

wondering if theres some easy solution…

holy.. wood!!!

for long, bollywood has been stamped as masala entertainment with wedding songs, male and female leads running behind trees,  families separated in village fairs and reuniting at movie climaxesetc.

there was a general opinion why dont these people think some more ? why cant the make some innovative movies like hollywood?yeah true, hollywood started of sans any traditional baggage that indian society has so there was no effort to shift mass mindsets while making movies commercially successful but they have stereotypes too and lots of them as the scale is much larger..

i think almost a fifth of the movies is about extra terrestrial beings half animal half human creatures hero of the movie out to save america, or sometimes still larger, save the world from some crisis.. a group of people caught in a fantasy land and running in fear and dinausaur like creatures running behind them in havoc and sometimes some creatures are so yuck… you can easily bunk dinner after the movie…

frankly apart from pirates, i never really found any fantasy appealing and not to forget harry potter people much above the meant age groups flocking theatres and scouring books gimme a break

hey.. so this was just like..penning down an opinion… you have heard of blog posts ending abruptly, haven’t you ?

what makes someone throw attitude ?

don’t they know its point blank irritating ?

i mean, i am really curious… do they want to show others .. “i hate your company” or “i feel like behaving properly only with better people”… or “sorry…i am thinking about something else.. you are too unimportant to be paid attention too” ??in any case either of the statements they make, with that trademark silence and purposeful disinterested / occasional angry looks doesn’t go down well with anyone sensible… there are some things everyone has to accept as a part of society… if you are too classy to accept it, then you can find a better fitment for yourself somewhere else… if you cannot do that, then you have to accept the norms existing and live with them…

well, in public interest, i have done a li’ll research on why ppl give attitude, behave proudly, what goes behind it…

thankyou … 🙂

here goes some brief analysis :

reason one – it can be a troubled history of being treated unimportantly, and hence the constant psychological need to prove it wrong ..

alternative sensible solution to being proud – find the reason(s) why you were not noticed/liked/wanted, try to build some likeable traits in yourself.. it is possible… the world is still beautiful… yes.

reason two – it can be insecurity and fear of something that you want to hide and in the process of being defensive, you become more aggresive or atleast try to show that you are aggresively classy and/or proud..

alternative sensible solution to being proud – please try art of living, or meditation..  life is full of imperfections. everyone has them. that makes us live and keep going for something always..

reason three – you think too high of yourself (more than you actually deserve), maybe self esteem was built by someone else like an over caring parent etc who made you believe that even einstein was not as great as you are.. and everyone else on the earth is a lesser mortal..

alternative sensible solution to being proud – you need therapy. please see a psychiatrist.

jetlite

i had traveled on british airways, air malaysia, indian airlines, air deccan, goair (brave me!) , indigo airlines so far…

this was the first time with jetlite.. for a economy airlines they were unexpectedly good… they served some simple food… air conditioners were not meant to freeze ppl..safety instructions before flying were better and more user friendly…the vacation and travel this time around has left me dead tired, so am not going to think of the next one in some time to come… but if someone is considering any domestic travel soon… i recomend jetlite…

customer… care ???

hutch was taken over by vodafone essar…. they are giants in whatever they have done so far.. agreed but indians are a different species on this blessed planet and indian markets have their super unique behaviour… vodafone is yet to get used to the fact…

i wanted internet service on my phone… now how simple is that… yeah even i thought so, but wait… wait longer… the customer care (?) executive put me on hold twice and then hung up !! ok no probs.. i called again.. the second guy said it will be done in the next 48 hrs… 48 hrs passed by silently… called up again… the third guy said, ‘oops! looks like your request wasn’t registered at all ’ lemme do it now… ma’am wait for 48 hrs pls… i was already impatient and a bit more assertive about it and the fact that i had memorized all these three guys’s names, helped me threaten them better…after hanging up, i called again, to check with the fourth guy if the third had really registered and not like last time… yeah it was…the next 48 hours (boy! that two long days…) also passed by silently… this time the silence was uncomfortable… so i called again for the fifth time, the fifth guy’s name was nice n short and he sounded chirpy… after listening to my patience saga… he said, ma’am but to activate internet service you will have to send us an sms, how come the earlier guys never told you about it ??? … enough was enough… i was literally mad at him… but had no other way out..sent the sms reluctantly.. after the next 48 hours now this time… my calls started getting forwarded directly to their supervisor… who was a bit aggressive and spoke about how customers don’t co operate (hello ?? ww-what?? hh-how?? i mean… grrrr) and after a lengthy discussion, he activated the service immediately after we hung up… whoa!!

now for the uninformed, i stay in a city, where people feel “tamil” (this goddamn language which i liked earlier but its getting on the nerves now and more because of vodafone) is the only giften language in the world and make some convenient assumptions that everyone in the world knows it and like it…so by the way whenever i call up vodafone, i can hear a recorded  female voice in tamil… asking me to click no 1 for something… no 2 (rand.. in tamil) and no3 (moona..in tamil) for something… for what ??? god knows …i made a tamil friend change it to english for me, but she was irritated half way through and gave up… and i didn’t have the patience to chase them for this now…  ok but now my job is done, i can take a chill pill.. sorry can i take a chill pill ??not if vodafone decides against it…

….and one fine extra sunny morning in chennai, i realize that i am not getting calls and cant make calls as they have blocked my connection …. whatttttt ??????? i mean…wwwhhhyyyy???? i mean… why me ??? but thankfully like you give a wooden log to a person drowning in a heavy current, my vodafone helpline number was one thing i could use… this time i called up, the guy said you haven’t paid your bill… but ihad.. i had paid bill a week ago at that!i dug up some records, and gave them the credit card transaction id… this time the eighth guy said, oh! we are sorry for this… your service shall resume in the next 48 hours… thankyou for choosing vodafone, my pleasure to serve you. now this 48 hour thing was something i couldn’t take…so when i called up again… they said, click nine to reach our executive, but when i clicked 9, the automated menu starts all over again.. i mean you can never reach what you want… the menu is in a never ending loop… so i got hold of a corporate relationship guy from vodafone who kindly helped me out.. and a couldn’t believe that it got done in a day, due to him…

to everyone who is ‘cared’ by vodafone care in india… its time to fasten your seat belts and get ready for a xing… and yeah… you can contact me if such need be, as i am well equipped with a whole list of their customer care executive’s names, store managers and some seniors at the helpline.. et al… and the good thing is… they all are aware of me too 😉
